Walkthrough

Cave Entrance: [39, 22] (behind Winterfin Village)

Finding Glrglrglr (Quest Giver):

The quest giver is a caged murloc INSIDE the caverns, not at Winterfin Retreat. You’ll find his cage partway through the cave system. He’s one of the murlocs who resisted Claximus’s mind control and got locked up for it.

Finding Keymaster Urmgrgl:

From Glrglrglr’s cage:

1. Take the closest slope down
2. At the first right, go down the narrow corridor
3. At the fork, stay right
4. Follow the ramp spiraling downward
5. At the bottom, Keymaster Urmgrgl patrols the back room

Keymaster Urmgrgl is noticeably larger than other murlocs in the cave, making him easy to spot.

Combat:

Simple fight with no special mechanics. Kill him, loot Urmgrgl’s Key, return to Glrglrglr’s cage.

Respawn: Very fast (approximately 2 minutes). One player reported seeing four corpses on the floor at once due to rapid respawns. If he’s not there, wait briefly.

Pair With: Cavern Quest Combo

Since you’re exploring the caverns, complete everything in one trip:

1. Oh Noes, the Tadpoles!: Free tadpole cages throughout
2. Them!: Kill 15 Winterfin murlocs
3. Monitoring the Rift: Winterfin Cavern: Use Arcanometer (if available)
4. Keymaster Urmgrgl: Kill Keymaster, get key
5. Escape from the Winterfin Caverns: Pick up escort quest from Lurgglbr on your way out

Optimal Route: After killing Keymaster Urmgrgl at the bottom, go back up the ramp. The room adjacent to the ramp contains both Glrglrglr (to turn in this quest) and Lurgglbr (escort quest). Turn in the key, then start the escort on your way out.

Story Context: A Murloc Who Resisted

Glrglrglr is desperate: “I have to get out of these caverns! There’s magic stuff seeping in from Coldarra, above, and affecting everyone’s minds.”

Unlike other Winterfin murlocs who succumbed to Claximus’s mind control, Glrglrglr resists: “I don’t intend to be controlled like these others!”

But his independence got him imprisoned. Without the key, he’s trapped: “Keymaster Urmgrgl is in the cave below and to the south. He holds the key to my cage. Get it from him and bring it back so that I can unlock my cage and get out of here.”

Upon completion, Glrglrglr is refreshingly honest about his priorities: “No, I don’t care about any of these others. I just want to get out of here! Quickly, hand it here!”

Completion: “So Long, Suckers!”

When you turn in the quest, Glrglrglr wastes no time:

Glrglrglr says: “So long, suckers. I’m out of here!”

He then runs out of the caverns on his own. When he reaches the cave entrance:

Glrglrglr says: “I made it. Freedom at last!”

Important: This is NOT an escort quest. You don’t need to follow or protect Glrglrglr. He runs off independently and makes it out fine. If you need him for another player or to respawn, he reappears at his cage within about 20 seconds of reaching the exit.

Lore: Resistance to Mind Control

Glrglrglr is one of the few Winterfin murlocs who maintained his free will despite the arcane magic seeping from Coldarra. His selfishness (“I don’t care about any of these others”) might seem unpleasant, but it may actually be what saved him. The murlocs who were corrupted were the ones who went deeper into the caverns, trying to rescue the tadpoles, exposing themselves to Claximus’s influence.

Glrglrglr’s self-preservation instinct kept him from that fate, even if it meant getting locked up.
